Biography Michael J.DiGregorio received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (I.U.P.) and a Master's degree in bassoon performance from the University of Miami. Over the past 25 years Michael has served as principal bassoon with many orchestras in South Florida, including the Gold Coast Symphony, Gold Coast Opera Orchestra, the Miami City Ballet Orchestra, Boca Pops, Palm Beach Symphony, Palm Beach Pops, and the Florida Grand Opera Orchestra. He has also performed with the South Florida Symphony, the Florida Philharmonic, the Naples Philharmonic, and the South Florida Philharmonic. Michael is currently principal bassoon with Symphony of the Americas, the Florida Sunshine Pops, the Ars Flores Symphony, the Ars Flores V Wind Quintet, and is the bassoon instructor at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.
For the past 9 years Michael has been teaching K-5 general music in the Broward County Public Schools and received his National Board Certification in 2010. He has also created music videos to help children learn their multiplication tables. The songs are available for download from the iTunes Store or at www.digemproductions.com. What I really like about playing with the orchestra is the camaraderie of the group. I have known many of the musicians for a long time and it has been a pleasure making music with them through the years.
