Kentucky Derby Party
Symphony of the Americas held their initial Derby Party in 1992 at the home of Nuccia McCormick in the Harborage.
This year’s party, celebrating the 143rd running of the Derby, will be held at the beautiful residence of Michelle Howland and Donald Sussman.
There will be betting for Win, Place, and Show with odds established by the industry standard “Daily Racing Forum.”
Festivities begin at 4:30 pm with the traditional Derby Hat Contest at 5:30pm.
If previous years’ contests can be used as an indicator, this year’s contest promises to be a real show stopper leading up to the all-star race.
Post Time for the race is 6:24pm.
Host Committee members will provide the appetizers as well as desserts, and the Traditional Derby Dinner by the Bite will be provided by the acclaimed team of Events by Kerrisha Chen.
Symphony of the Americas Kentucky Derby Party is sponsored by Nancy Keating who has graciously sponsored this event for more than six years.
General Chairs are Nancy and David Voneida.
Melanie Popper, President of Symphony of the Americas Society, said, “Our Derby Party is a big favorite among our members and our symphony supporters at large. It has a great mix of tradition and spontaneous party fun that everyone can enjoy.”
