Showcasing two young rising stars performing with the orchestra. Add some Rossini, and you have an orchestra, a cello and a piano. Following her solo debut at the age of 10, Anna Maria Litvinenko, now 17, has appeared as soloist with numerous orchestras. A Jack Kent Cooke Foundation scholar, Litvinenko has won first prize in several competitions and has performed internationally. In the summer of 2011, she was selected as one of only 24 cellists to participate in the respected International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Litvinenko will perform a favorite work of virtuoso cellists everywhere in this all classical concert Hailed by renowned music critic Harris Goldsmith in Musical America as "the most exciting prodigy to ever come my way," 17-year-old Chinese-American pianist, violinist, composer and award-winning EMI recording artist Conrad Tao has appeared as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Dallas and Baltimore Symphonies, among others. His solo recitals include the Louvre Museum in Paris, Ravinia & Verbier Festivals. Tao will play one of Rachmaninoff's most enduringly popular piano concerts.
